该项目为独栋别墅庭院花园景观改造设计，设计旨提炼江南园林空间营造手法，创造“园·圆”游居的当代惬意庭院园景，实现室内室外功能、视线、体验的联动.

游---“优游山水，枕乐林泉”；

居---“在风景中读书、习艺、清谈、宴饮”，把室内的生活拓展到室外，亦弥补室内所达不到的精神充盈丰沛。

This project involves the landscape renovation design of a standalone villa courtyard garden. The design aims to distill the spatial construction techniques of Jiangnan gardens to create a contemporary and comfortable courtyard scene that embodies the "garden·circle" of living and wandering. It seeks to achieve a synergy between indoor and outdoor functions, views, and experiences.
Wandering - "Roaming the landscape, resting in the joy of the woods and springs";

Living - "Reading, practicing arts, engaging in light conversation, and feasting amidst the scenery," extending indoor life to the outdoors, and compensating for the spiritual enrichment that cannot be achieved within the confines of the interior.

1.小中见大

Small Yet Grand

中国古典戏曲以少胜多著称“三五步，行遍天下，六七人，雄会万师”，而当代别墅花园土地金贵，设计力求秉承中国文化，做到景致“小巧入画”，追求“笔欲少气欲壮，景欲简意欲浓”，用凝练的景观要素引自然山水入庭院，本案充分利用每处空间，从游园线路和室内观赏视线考量，设计一步一歇一赏，以小见大地体现花园游赏价值。
Chinese classical operas are renowned for their ability to convey vast narratives with minimal resources, famously described as "traversing the world in three or five steps, and assembling a mighty army with six or seven people." In contemporary villa gardens, where land is precious, the design strives to uphold Chinese cultural principles, aiming for scenery that is "delicate and picturesque." The pursuit is for "few strokes yet bold spirit, simple scenery yet rich meaning," using condensed landscape elements to bring the essence of natural mountains and rivers into the courtyard. This project fully utilizes every space, considering both the garden paths and indoor viewing perspectives, designing a garden experience where each step offers a pause and a moment of appreciation, effectively embodying the value of the garden through a small yet grand approach.

Spiritual enrichment

江南古典私家园林以文心、书卷气闻名，正是如此，诗书文化让游园人体验精神充盈。别墅造园，每处景观要素亦应如作诗造字般锤炼，本案设计和施工中，和园主就一山一水、一草一木斟酌选购布置，也终能实现园主在景中品茶读书听风赏鹭之惬意。

The classical private gardens of Jiangnan are famous for their literary flair and scholarly atmosphere. It is this poetic and calligraphic culture that allows visitors to experience spiritual enrichment while touring the gardens. In the creation of a villa garden, every landscape element should be refined with the same care as composing poetry or crafting characters. In the design and construction of this project, the garden owner and the designers meticulously selected and arranged every mountain, water feature, plant, and tree. Ultimately, this has enabled the garden owner to enjoy the leisurely pleasures of sipping tea, reading books, listening to the wind, and admiring the egrets amidst the scenery.

3.清雅朴素

Elegant Simplicity:

中国审美的雅朴部分归功于少胜多，简胜繁，花园的雅朴背景则由设计师和园主共同选购的灰瓦、白墙、青砖、灰石、碳竹营造，植物姿态亦取自然伸展，品种选择也遵循朴素、适宜上海气候便于管理的原则，居游其中随性自然。

The aesthetic of elegant simplicity inChinese culture is largely attributed to the principle of "less ismore" and "simplicity over complexity." The backdrop of thegarden's elegant simplicity is created through the collaborative selection ofmaterials by the designer and the garden owner, including gray tiles, whitewalls, blue bricks, gray stones, and carbonized bamboo. The plants are chosenfor their natural growth patterns, and the selection of species adheres to theprinciples of simplicity and suitability for the Shanghai climate, ensuringease of maintenance. Living and wandering within such a space allows for aspontaneous and natural experience.

4.因地制宜

Adaptation to Local Conditions:

不求景多而全，但求景精。根据现状空间形态，酌留原景观要素，因地制宜改善每个功能空间：

The design does not aim for an abundanceand completeness of scenery, but rather for the precision of each scene. Basedon the existing spatial forms, original landscape elements are judiciouslyretained, and each functional space is improved according to the localconditions:

4.1入口体验：保留原水钵和红枫组合，改善堆坡地形、摆石、加植苔藓，扩展灰石旱溪，将景观要素联系为一体，通过简洁的屏风遮挡原裸露的工具房，同时围合出完整的入口空间，将视线引导至水钵，提升入户体验。

Entrance Experience:The original waterbasin and red maple combination is preserved, and the terraced topography, rockplacements, and addition of moss are improved. The gray stone dry creek isexpanded, integrating the landscape elements into a cohesive whole. A simplescreen is used to conceal the previously exposed utility room, while alsoenclosing a complete entrance space that directs the gaze towards the waterbasin, enhancing the experience of entering the home.

4.2北院花境：狭长北院力求自然顺畅，梳理园路流畅便行，灰色原石材质防滑平坦，两侧的阴生花境在四季呈现不同的景致。

Northern Courtyard Flower Bed: The narrownorthern courtyard strives for a natural and smooth flow. The garden paths arestraightened for ease of walking, with gray natural stone materials that areslip-resistant and even. The shade-loving flower beds on both sides presentdifferent scenes throughout the four seasons.

4.3西院功能优化：西院为主要的活动空间，在原青枫后的闲置空间增建白墙灰瓦的茶室，结合配置石臼改造的洗手台、灰石子限定的户外围炉煮茶区，形成可赏、可用的茶艺角落，丰盈精神。

Western Courtyard Function Optimization:Thewestern courtyard serves as the main activity space. An additional tea roomwith white walls and gray tiles is built in the previously unused space behindthe green maple. Combined with a stone mortar repurposed as a washbasin and agray stone area designated for outdoor tea brewing, a space for appreciatingand using tea art is formed, enriching the spirit.

4.4南院幽深：南院同样较为狭长，但是客厅的重要视线观赏点，原来为闲置的草地及大片南天竺，空间利用率低且显得拥挤。引水入园，激活空间。叠山凿渠，与园主认真选一石一木，切磋每个视角的景致，引得雾霭中白鹭待红鱼的景致。

Southern Courtyard Serenity:The southerncourtyard, also relatively narrow, is a significant viewing point from theliving room. Previously, it was an underutilized lawn and a large patch ofNandina domestica, making the space feel crowded. By bringing water into thegarden, the space is revitalized. Mountains are stacked and channels are dug,with the garden owner carefully selecting each stone and tree, refining eachperspective's scenery, resulting in a scene of egrets waiting for red fish inthe mist.
